What We Believe
Who is God?

There is one true God whose nature is perfectly loving, perfectly just, perfectly holy, and perfectly truthful. He eternally exists as three distinct and equal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God Holy Spirit. God has made Himself known to us in the person of Jesus Christ, the scriptures, and creation by the illumination and indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

God the Father - Almighty Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible, natural and supernatural. Who has set all of creation into motion and who holds all things together by the power His word.

God the Son - Jesus Christ:

  • Divine Son of God who has existed eternally.

  • Promised and foretold through the law and prophets of the Old Testament.

  • Was born of the virgin Mary in the line of King David.

  • Is entirely Man and entirely God.

  • Lived a perfect sinless life.

  • Performed miracles.

  • Suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified and died on the cross.

  • Physically resurrected from the dead after three days.

  • Physically ascended to the right hand of the Father into the heavenly realm where he rules and reins over all creation.

  • Continually intercedes before The Father for those who believe and who will believe.

  • Will personally return to earth in power and glory to gather His people and to judge both the living and the dead, the righteous and the wicked, in keeping with His perfect nature.

  • Will establish His eternal Kingdom in its fullness where the righteous will rule and reign with Him forever.

  • Is not just the source of life but is in fact life itself.

God the Holy Spirit:

  • Was sent by Jesus after His ascension and is present on the earth.

  • Supernaturally accomplishes the will of God for the Church, on the earth and in all of creation.

  • Convicts and leads the believer into truth and the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

  • Causes the believer to be born-again through spiritual regeneration; that is to be made spiritually alive by living in the heart of the believer.

  • Sets the believer free from the finality of death and gives eternal life.

  • Dwells in the heart of the believer and empowers them to live a godly life set free from the power of sin.

  • Distributes spiritual gifts to believers.

Core Beliefs

  • The whole creation was made by God in perfect goodness and that mankind was made in the good and perfect image of God; and for mankind to have dominion over the creation in perfect relationship with God.

  • Mankind fell due to having been deceived and rebelling against God. This resulted in the inherent corruption, brokenness and spiritual death of humanity called sin.

  • Through the fall of mankind, all of creation was also subjected to the bondage of corruption and also suffers the effect of sin.

  • Jesus Christ, as foretold in the Old Testament through the law and the prophets, suffered at the hands of humanity, but in obedience to the will of God the Father, willingly laid His life down in His substitutionary and atoning death on the cross; through which our sins have been forgiven and we are made right with God.

  • Spiritual regeneration of the Holy Spirit is necessary for lost and sinful humanity to be saved. This is given without exception to all who repent of dead works and place their faith in no other but Jesus Christ and the finished work of His life, death and resurrection.

  • Salvation for the believer is absolutely secure as they remain in Christ.

  • Jesus Christ as the head of the Church, leads the Church through the ascension ministries of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher to build the Church in unity, to grow in maturity and in the knowledge of Christ.

  • Spiritual gifts are distributed to believers by The Holy Spirit which includes but is not limited to prophecy, tongues, interpretation of tongues, words of knowledge, gifts of healings, teaching, discerning of spirits, helps and many other gifts for the purpose of building up the Church and empowering its mission to the world.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ across the world and throughout all of time and that these make up the universal Church which is the body of Christ for whom Jesus will return.

  • We believe in the sacraments of baptism by immersion, and of holy communion - The Lords supper, as a sign and declaration of the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the life of the believer.

  • We believe that the covenant of marriage is the union of a man and a woman who have voluntarily entered into a loving, committed and exclusive relationship for as long as both live.

  • It is the privilege and responsibility of all believers to wisely and faithfully steward all that God has given them for the care of our families, the care of the church, the care of the broader community and for advancing God’s kingdom. This includes finances, material resources, talents & capabilities and all things that God has sovereignly and lovingly gifted us.

  • We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired, and only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe there will be a final resurrection of both the saved (those that accept Christ) and the lost (those that reject Christ):

  • Those who are saved will be saved to the resurrection of life in glorified and incorruptible bodies. Those who are lost, that is the finally unrepentant, to the resurrection of damnation and eternal separation from the life of God.

  • The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news of His kingdom which puts sinners at right standing with a loving, holy and just God.

John 3:16-18

" For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."

Romans 1:16

" For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes."

*Concerning the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit we acknowledge that as imperfect people it is possible to miss or misunderstand what God might be saying or doing in or through us. For this reason, it is necessary to understand that the Bible is our primary source for teaching and discipleship. As a church, we believe that the spiritual gifts are for all believers in various measures according to their faith, however, as scripture tells us, we must be accountable to our faith community and trained to operate in the gifts by both the scriptures, which is the only infallible word of God, and by those who are mature in the faith and in operating faithfully and fruitfully in the gifts
